Well the inevitable happened yesterday – I ran outside in front of the public for the first time since, well I don’t think I’ve ever run outside other than school PE lessons. Before you go thinking I’ve lost my mind entirely let me reassure you it was vanity propelled, I was in the middle of an alright hair day and had come out without a coat and upon leaving the office was faced with a downpour. So, looking around to make sure there were no hotties in the immediate vicinity (it seems vanity is the watchword!) I gallumphed my way down the hill and round the corner to my car and almost felt sprightly on my feet as I dodged a particularly slow moving pavement hog. It felt as though I should have been running through a shower of confetti with people chanting my name and waving flags as I reached my little silver chariot. It’s one of those things I would never have been able to do pre op for fear of collapsing of a heart attack or shaking the World off its very axis with the thundering vibrations of my feet pounding the pavement. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I’m ever going to be one of those women who willingly strap on their trainers and hit the open road on a regular basis because I find running the most boring thing on earth (other than having to listen to some people witter on about their self absorbed nonsense endlessly) but it’s another new thing I can do now that I couldn’t have contemplated doing before.
