Remember Remember Back when November…

Wasn’t a huge stress ball?

I woke up in the middle of the night fumbled for my Blackberry and blearily composed an email to myself. It was a follow up email to the one I bafflingly composed to my agent yesterday about an idea for a total rework of the book (again). It’s all been a bit book centric in my head of late, so much in fact that I feel I should get someone talented to design some cobwebs I can pop up around this place to illustrate the levels of neglect. I apologise wholeheartedly and resolve to spend more time on this place. Although I’ve just become involved in an offshoot rebel project of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) so November is shaping up to be even more book based.

For those not in the know, NaNoWriMo is an annual event when writers all over the world take on the challenge to write at least 50,000 words of a novel during November. Crazy right? I was talking on Twitter with @polly_writer and @novelicious who were both contemplating the challenge (as well as their navels if they’re anything like me) and as we were all a bit freaked by the idea and looking for some support we decided to team up for our own event. But what to call it? NaNoWriMo didn’t fit the bill as @polly_writer is firmly past writing and on to editing, @novelicious has started and is writing and I’m, well I’m somewhere in limbo between the two. After debate and discussion the name we settled on for our November project is…. #EXASPERMO in honour of it probably being the most exasperating month of our lives as we swan dive gracefully into the depths of novel writing insanity. BRING. IT. ON.
